Deliver Meals on Wheels on Christmas Day

Meals on Wheels West is looking for volunteers to make meal deliveries through our "Delivering More Than a Meal" program on Christmas Day. Meals on Wheels West serves people who are homebound and facing hunger and social isolation in Santa Monica, Venice, Marina del Rey, Pacific Palisades, and Malibu. There is Hidden Hunger in even the most affluent communities, and we thank you for your interest and compassion in helping the vulnerable populations we serve during these trying times.

Volunteer Roles & Responsibilities: As a Delivery Volunteer, you will work directly with Meals on Wheels West to deliver nutritious meals to our homebound neighbors in need. The meals that you will deliver consist of hot lunches, sandwiches, milk, juice, fruit, and frozen meals (on select days). Volunteers mean to Meals on Wheels West's clients, especially during the holiday season.

Pickup time from our office in Santa Monica is between 10:45 am - 11:45 am depending on the route. Delivery times can take approximately 1 - 2 hours and each route has an average of 8-12 homebound clients who would otherwise be food insecure.

All volunteers undergo a mandatory background check before volunteering. The background check takes approximately 3-5 days.
