Purpose:

The Duncanville Public Library is seeking a Volunteer Resume Workshop Facilitator will lead monthly workshops to assist patrons in creating, updating, and tailoring their resumes for job applications. This role is essential in empowering library users to improve their employability and achieve their career goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans for resume writing
  • Provide guidance on structuring resumes, highlighting skills, and tailoring content
  • Assist patrons in using computer software for resume creation
  • Teach basic computer skills to beginners as needed

Qualifications:

  • Expertise in resume writing, cover letters, and job application strategies
  • Strong communication skills and patience when working with diverse audiences
  • Familiarity with resume-building software and basic computer applications
