Haven Hospice is seeking volunteers to visit with patients and/or help with office duties, as well as volunteers with special skills. Come make a difference in our patient's and their family's lives! You can choose what you are comfortable doing while you volunteer, there are many opportunities. Detailed training provided.
Direct Patient Care Volunteers
- Companionship - providing patients/families with socialization
- Brief respite - sitting with a patient while their family caregiver runs errands
- Reading to patients or watching tv with them
- Walking patient’s dog
- Cooking or cleaning
- Helping patient write letters
- Handyman jobs
- Grocery shopping
- Life review - help patient/family reminisce and/or record patient’s life stories
- Etc.
Administrative/Office Volunteers
- Filing
- Preparing patient packets
- Data entry
- Answering the phone
- Special projects
- Etc.
Bereavement Volunteers
- Assist with visits, phone calls and support groups for bereaved family members
- Assist with memorial events
- Put together bereavement mailings
Specialized Services Volunteers - license/certification required
- Massage therapists
- Music therapy
- Pet therapy
- Art Therapy
- Hairdresser

Haven started in 2011 out of a desire to provide high-quality care to patients. We are clinician owned and operated, and to this day we are focused on investing in our employees so they can do the best work possible. We love this community and we want to take care of both our staff and our patients.
