To apply, head to: https://www.everydogaustin.org/join Every Dog Austin is providing inclusive, accessible dog training and behavior resources to the Austin community. But we need your help! We need volunteers for our group dog training classes, to help ensure that everyone gets the support they need! Details: -Volunteer class assistants help out with group training classes at either Every Dog class location (North at our training center on E Hwy 290 or South at the Work & Woof facility on South Congress) -We generally ask that volunteers be able to help in at least 6 weeks of classes (we don't allow 1-time volunteers right now). Most classes are on evenings or weekends. So for example, you may decide to volunteer for Tuesdays at 6pm and 7pm at our North facility, or Sundays at 11am at our South facility. Some volunteers help for one hour per week, while others do more.

-Volunteers do not need to have any training background- class assistants can help with everything from setting up chairs to filling up water bottles to being a "distraction" for enthusiastic puppies. However, many of our volunteers are aspiring trainers!

-This is a great opportunity to learn about dog training, help the community, and see some very cute dogs!

What do volunteers DO to assist in classes?

-help set up chairs, barriers, and other items for class
-help with mopping, sweeping, washing water bowls or other cleaning tasks
-greet new clients and direct them toward the restrooms or signing waivers as needed
-grabbing water bowls for clients or giving them spray/paper towels if a pup has an accident
-helping with grabbing other materials or resources during class as requested by the instructor
-in some classes, being a friendly stranger while participants practice having their dogs politely greet a new person

About Every Dog Behavior and Training

Location:

7020 E Hwy 290, Bldg 2, Suite D, Austin, TX 78723, US

Mission Statement

Every Dog is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to providing inclusive, accessible dog training and behavior resources to the Austin community.

Description

We have a vision for a time when professional, ethical (and fun!) dog training and behavior support is accessible for all of Austin's dogs (and their people). We're all about reaching the thousands of dogs in our area who don't typically receive professional behavior support, often due to finances, accessibility, or lack of awareness. We provide free training resources and low-cost training classes and private sessions. We offer Spanish language training options, and collaborate with local ethical trainers.

Our Values

  • We play well with others.
  • We're honest.
  • We're total behavior nerds.
  • We always train without fear or pain.
  • We're real humans who like other humans.
  • We're really excited about accessibility and inclusion.
  • We're professional.
  • We support behavior people
  • We look for gaps to fill.
