ORGANIZATION: Duncanville Public Library

Purpose:
The Duncanville Public Library aims to provide a beginner-level English as a Second Language (ESL) course that gives adult learners a fruitful learning experience, fulfills their need to develop fluency in English for personal and professional purposes, and enables them to build competencies and skills for successful communication in English.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Present engaging lessons
  • Conduct classes in a manner that promotes active learning and student engagement
  • Provide feedback and support to help students improve their language skills
  • Be prepared to accommodate different learning styles
  • Be able and willing to teach beginners

Time Commitment:

  • Minimum of 1 hour per week
  • Commitment to a regular schedule for at least 3 months

The goal is to offer an 8 to 10-week course for the Fall of 2024, ending before the holidays. There is flexibility around class times and we are willing to work with your schedule. The class will be limited to 15 students and materials/lesson plans are provided.
