Position Overview:

The Social Services volunteer position at The American Center for Human Rights and Social Services offers a unique opportunity for passionate and dedicated individuals to gain hands-on experience in the field of social services. This fellowship is designed to provide valuable experience, mentorship, and training to emerging professionals seeking to make a meaningful impact in their communities.

Key Responsibilities:

● Conduct intake screenings with clients to assess their needs and determine eligibility for services.

● Maintain accurate and confidential client records, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.

● Assist clients in accessing the necessary resources, programs, and services to meet their needs via HRA government benefit applications.

● Advocate on behalf of clients to ensure they receive the support and assistance they require.

● Participate in community outreach efforts to raise awareness of available services and resources.

● Engage in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills in social services.

● Collaborate with mentors and supervisors to set goals and track your progress.


Qualifications:

● Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

● Empathy and a genuine passion for helping others.

● Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

● Excellent organizational and time management skills.

● Cultural competence and the ability to work with diverse populations.

● Arabic or Spanish speaking is a plus.
