Description
Training is provided as part of our volunteer experience. You can make a positive difference by listening and supporting the patient and family, reading or sitting with patient for short periods of time, writing letters, checking on patients and families by telephone, sharing your music with a patient and their family, becoming a Veteran-to-Veteran volunteer, caring for the pets of the patient (walk and play with dogs, etc.), assisting with clerical office tasks and supporting community events, and more.
Hospice volunteers are exceptional people. They donate their time and efforts to provide care and comfort for someone with a life-limiting illness - a labor of love that requires a special person with just the right touch. They have a passion for helping others and make a profound difference in the lives of the patients, families, and communities we are privileged to serve.
