We are looking for a compassionate aspiring, current, or retired math teacher to visit a fellow math teacher nearing end of life. We have a special request from one of our hospice patients who would like to have a companion visit with them to talk all things math and teaching. In exchange for your time, you will receive math wisdom and exciting life stories!
Our volunteers are full members of our hospice team and often form close ties with the patient and their family. In our Volunteer Orientation class you will understand some of the challenges that face patients and families and ways you can bring quality of life and compassionate care to them.
As a hospice volunteer you will learn about the hospice philosophy, communicating with patients and families, family dynamics, spiritual care and the grief process.
Please consider joining our team as we honor life and offer hope to those who need us most.
