Be a Lifesaver! Foster a Cat or Dog!
- Fostering is a temporary commitment with lasting rewards for you and the animal.
- Giving an animal a chance to spend time in a foster home has positive effects on their mental and physical health.
- Fostering also gives the animal a chance to be socialized with other animals and humans. This is so important to know who and what they will get along with to ensure they find their perfect "furever home."
- HSDC is always needing dog, puppy, cat, and kitten fosters.
- Becoming a foster parent is super easy! If you are interested in becoming a foster for dogs, puppies, cats, or kittens, you need to visit our website and submit a FOSTER Application (different from an Adoption Application.)
- HSDC Website: https://www.hsdavie.org/
- Step by step instructions on submitting a Foster Application:
- Visit the HSDC website (see link above).
- Look for "Foster" tab at the top of the page, Click "Foster" tab.
- Scroll down and select "Become a Dog or Puppy Foster" or "Become a Kitten or Cat Foster."
- Complete the Foster Application.
- Once the application is submitted, you will be contacted by an HSDC staff member to answer any questions you may have and give you more details about which animals are needing foster homes.
