About She's My Daughter: She's My Daughter is a non-profit organization committed to empowering the younger generation in the fight against gender-based violence. Our mission is to actively involve Gen Z students, particularly high school and college students, in promoting consent, respect, and equality. We believe that engaging young minds is pivotal for fostering a culture of healthy relationships and preventing violence.

Position Overview: She's My Daughter is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Volunteer Curriculum Developer to assist in creating an interactive workshop tailored for Gen Z high school and college students. The workshop aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills to cultivate respectful relationships, prevent violence, and contribute to creating a safer and more equitable community.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with the She's My Daughter team to understand the organization's mission, goals, and the unique needs of Gen Z students.
  2. Explore contemporary trends, youth culture, and relevant resources in developing a curriculum focused on consent, healthy relationships, and gender-based violence prevention.
  3. Design a comprehensive and engaging workshop curriculum that resonates with the experiences of high school and college students.
  4. Develop interactive materials, including presentations, handouts, and activities that capture the attention and interest of the target audience.
  5. Ensure the curriculum is inclusive, culturally relevant, and addresses the diverse experiences of Gen Z students.
  6. Work closely with the She's My Daughter team to incorporate feedback and make necessary adjustments to the curriculum.
  7. Provide guidance on the implementation of the workshop, including facilitator instructions and strategies for active student participation.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in curriculum development, preferably with a focus on youth engagement, consent, and healthy relationships.
  • Familiarity with the unique characteristics and preferences of Gen Z students.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with an ability to connect with and engage younger audiences.
  • Knowledge of current youth culture, trends, and perspectives on relationships and consent.
  • Commitment to She's My Daughter's mission and values.

Time Commitment: This is a volunteer position with a flexible time commitment. The initial development phase may require more intensive effort, but subsequent involvement will be based on ongoing collaboration and feedback.

She's My Daughter galvanizes men to provide practical ways of hope and healing to women who have been hurt and abandoned by men thru scholarship programs, emergency assistance, training on personal value, job readiness, entrepreneurship, Sex Trafficking awareness. Our current initiatives are to support the safe/recovery houses for women who have suffered by way of domestic violence and sex trafficking, as we seek out an opportunity to build a safe house in the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan area.
