Fairy Winterland at Children’s Fairyland has been a Bay Area tradition for nearly twenty years! This festive multicultural celebration of global traditions, winter holidays, and end-of-year rituals brings communities together and illuminates the shared truths that unite us all.
This year, Winterland takes place during the day, harvesting the magic of a crisp chill in the air, the icy blue of December sky, and 13 reasons to wear matching sweaters! A most enchanting experience immerses you and your loved ones in the charm and cozy togetherness of a holiday extravaganza.
On December 14-15, 18-23, and 26-30, we will need volunteers to help create a cheerful, festive atmosphere and support the following activities:
Barista: serving toasty beverages (9:30-1:00 pm OR 12:30-4:00 pm)
Crafter: support our arts and crafts activities (9:30-1:00 pm OR 12:30-4:00 pm)
- Member Lounge on 12/21: support cookie decoration, help set up and break down (8:30-12:30 pm)

Nestled lakeside in Oakland, Children's Fairyland creates a magical world of wonder that delights visitors of all ages - especially children - through attractions, performances, animals, gardens, programming, and community partnerships.
Description
Children’s Fairyland is the country’s first storybook theme park, opening our doors in 1950. The park creates a magical world of wonder that delights visitors of all ages-especially children-boasting 40 whimsical, storybook-themed exhibits, eight acres of gardens, gentle animals, and educational programs centered on the transformative power of storytelling. In 1994, management of Children’s Fairyland transitioned from a public park to a nonprofit dedicated to Oakland children. Approximately 150,000 visitors explore the park each year.

- Completed Fairyland's Volunteer Liability Release and Indemnification Agreement. Volunteers should be comfortable interacting with all guests, handling treats, walking and standing for long periods of time.
