Veterans in nursing home in southeast Michigan, including your town, get lonely and need visitors like you. Volunteer through Heartland Hospice to help them and others!

Volunteers must be at least 18-years-old to visit patients. Heartland (formerly ProMedica Hospice, now part of Gentiva) requires all volunteers to get the annual flu shot and provides it for free. Volunteers must get their annual COVID shot and provide proof. Volunteers must complete two initial TB skin tests, as well as an initial and an annual background check and drug screening (all paid for by Heartland). All volunteers must complete an N95 mask fit test. Volunteers must be willing to have a copy of their driver's license or other ID, and car insurance (if the volunteer drives) in their files. About Heartland Hospice (formerly ProMedica)

Location:

1390 Eisenhower Place, Ann Arbor, MI 48108, US

Mission Statement

Heartland Hospice provides quality care to patients with a limited life expectancy, as well as support to their families and caregivers. Formerly known as ProMedica Hospice, Heartland enhances the quality of life of those we serve through palliative and specialized supportive care designed to meet the physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs of the patients and caregivers. Hospice care is provided by using an interdisciplinary approach in delivering care to patients--either in their own homes or extended care facilities--while working cooperatively with other health care providers and other community resources. Heartland Hospice strives to provide care to all who are eligible and need hospice care irrespective of ability to pay. Heartland is part of Gentiva Health Services.
