We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Grant Writer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in securing funding for our organization through grant proposals. This position involves research, writing, and collaboration with various departments to develop proposals that align with our mission and strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Grant Research: Identify potential grant opportunities that match the organization's objectives. Stay informed about grant application deadlines and requirements.
Proposal Development: Write compelling grant proposals, ensuring clarity, coherence, and adherence to grant guidelines and specifications.
Budget Development: Collaborate with the finance department to create accurate and detailed budgets for grant applications.
Proposal Submission: Submit grant applications by the specified deadlines through the appropriate channels.
Grant Management: Manage and monitor the progress of awarded grants, ensuring compliance with grant terms, reporting requirements, and deadlines.
Collaboration: Work closely with various departments, including program managers, finance, and research, to gather information and data needed for grant applications.
Grant Reporting: Prepare and submit timely grant reports and updates to funding organizations.
Grant Tracking: Maintain a comprehensive record of grant applications, awards, and rejections.
Relationship Building: Develop and maintain positive relationships with grant providers, donors, and funders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (Master's degree preferred). Will accept proven experience as well.
- Proven experience in grant writing and successful grant application submissions.
- Strong research skills and the ability to identify funding opportunities.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Proficiency in budget development and financial reporting.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of nonprofit operations and fundraising strategies.
- Familiarity with grant databases and online research tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.

Rising Now, Inc. is committed to supporting our youth and young adults by providing endless opportunities for the skill development that is necessary for success in life and in the workforce. We have provided mentoring and internships to over 100 students.
As a new organization in the Charlotte area, our plans for the coming year are focused on the foundational development of the support we offer our participants to better prepare them for success in life and in the workforce. These goals include designing and delivering relevant workshops in the areas of college preparation, financial literacy, interview preparation, resume writing, and more; developing and launching our mentorship program with community members to guide our youth in decision making and building positive self-esteem; building an internship program with a variety of businesses and organizations to provide work experience and connect students with career opportunities; and creating partnerships with schools and other agencies in the community to ensure our offerings are accessible to youth from all backgrounds.
