Join us for Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service at the White Point Nature Preserve! You will help care for the White Point Native Plant Demonstration Garden by planting native shrubs, removing invasive weeds, watering native plants, grooming trails and more! Your efforts will help restore this habitat for wildlife as well as create a beautiful place for the community to enjoy!

White Point Nature Preserve is located at 1600 W. Paseo del Mar in San Pedro. Western Blvd. turns into Paseo del Mar. White Point Nature Preserve is located at the end of the road on the left-hand side. Free parking is available.

Volunteers must wear closed-toe shoes and be sure to bring drinking water. Sun protection and long pants are recommended.

Please note that in order to participate all volunteers under 18 must have a parent or guardian sign and complete their waiver online or bring the printed copy to the event. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

The mission of the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy (PVPLC) is to "preserve land and restore habitat for the education and enjoyment of all."

Description

The Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy (PVPLC) manages over 1600 acres of open space on the Palos Verdes Peninsula, and two nature centers with native plant demonstration gardens. The PVPLC engages volunteers in the development and maintenance of native plant gardens in order to demonstrate how gardening with native plants is beneficial for the environment.
