The Five Valleys Area (Missoula, Bitterroot, Lake Counties) Special Olympics Programs are looking for Competition Coordinators to help plan and host their community sports training & tournaments!
Sports & Competition Coordinator oversees all work and committees dedicated to facilitating local Area competitions. This position is the primary liaison between SOMT’s Sports Department and the local volunteers. You will be responsible for not only helping plan sporting events, but also running them day of. A sports background is helpful, but not needed. What is needed is a strong sense of organization, and an ability to be on site during events. We are currently planning Spring Sports and are looking for individuals with Track, Field, Bocce, Soccer or Swimming backgrounds. Any event planning experience is a plus!
We are in desperate need of individuals with experience with track (running, or planning track meets are a plus) This is not a required but would be helpful!
Experience with a nonprofit organization or sports organization is helpful but not required.
New coordinator orientation and ongoing training is provided by Special Olympics Montana staff.
This is a volunteer, non-paid position. Allowable -expense reimbursements are available.
