The Apple Valley Food Shelf is in partnership with 360 Communities. The Food Shelf is a SuperShelf food program, meaning we strive to offer a wide variety of fresh and healthy food options in a welcoming environment.

Having excellent volunteers enhances our ability to destigmatize the food shelf shopping experience by providing great customer service to clients.

We have a variety of shifts and positions open at the Apple Valley Food Shelf. Please take a look at the shifts below and reach out if you have any questions.

Volunteer Shifts Available

The Apple Valley Food Shelf, operating at Shepherd of the Valley Church, is a partnership between SOTV and 360 Communities.

Food Shelf Volunteer: Food shelf volunteers stock, sort, pre-pack, and shop with clients. We ask that volunteers commit to volunteering at least twice per month.

Days Available:

Tuesdays from 8:45am - 12:45pm or 12:30pm - 4:30pm

Thursdays from 8:45am - 12:45pm or 12:30pm - 4:30pm

Saturdays from 8:30am - 12:30pm

LOOKING FOR SPANISH TRANSLATORS TO HELP AT OUR FOOD SHELF.

**Are you bilingual?

**Are you a student learning Spanish in school?

We would love to have you come in and help out as we have many Spanish clients.

Shifts with translator needs:

Tuesdays: 10:00am - 1:00pm or 1:30pm - 3:30pm

Saturdays: 8:30am-12:30pm

Rescue Food Support Volunteer: Volunteers in this role s ort/check food from grocery stores and stock shelves. Once or twice a month. This position does not have client contact.

Tuesdays or Thursdays, 8:30-11:00

Fridays: 9:00-11:30

Truck delivery support : Volunteers unload the truck delivery, shelve items and check inventory. No client contact. Must be able to lift 40 pounds.

Mondays: 9:30am-11:30am

We can work with your schedule depending on your time available.

Founded more than 40 years ago by a group of volunteers, 360 Communities provides hope and support to more than 17,500 individuals each year with services in over 40 locations, including a network of five food shelves, two resource centers, two sexual and domestic violence shelters, and two programs that support school success from birth through high school graduation. About 1,000 volunteers donate their time, energy and talent in support of 360 Communities every year.

360 Communities delivers a full circle of support to families through its strong network of programs, resources, and community partners. No matter how a person enters 360 Communities, staff and volunteers engage them to identify the root causes of their problems and provide resources to help them onto a path toward self-sustained success.
