Do you like a good game? A fun coloring page? An engaging book? Making a difference in a child’s life? If you can answer yes to those questions and are at least 18 years of age, then you’re the buddy we’re looking for! Hennepin Healthcare Pediatric Department is seeking compassionate, reliable, and enthusiastic volunteers to join our team to help us provide the best care possible for our young patients. As a volunteer, you will have the opportunity to interact with children of various ages and backgrounds, assist them with activities and needs, and help provide moments of fun and distraction while they are in the hospital. Description
Hennepin Healthcare is an integrated system of care that includes a nationally recognized Level I Adult and Pediatric Trauma Center, an acute care hospital, as well as a clinic system with primary care clinics located in Minneapolis and across Hennepin County. The healthcare system includes a 484-bed academic medical center, a large outpatient Clinic & Specialty Center, and a network of clinics downtown, in the North Loop, Whittier, East Lake Street neighborhoods of Minneapolis, and in suburban communities of Brooklyn Park, Golden Valley, Richfield, and St. Anthony Village. Hennepin Healthcare has a large psychiatric program, home care, and hospice, and operates a research institute, and philanthropic foundation. Hennepin Healthcare includes Emergency Medical Services, which operates a large fleet of ambulances serving 14 cities in Hennepin County.

- Orientation or Training
- Most volunteers schedule a 3-4 hour shift once per week for 3-6 months. A coordinator will work with you to find a position that fits your schedule and your interests from among our openings. Daytime, evening and weekend hours are available.
- You will need to complete a background study, and submit immunization records- TB testing, MMR and Varicella. Following orientation, 32 hours of service will be spent in our Welcome Services before starting in our Pediatric Department.
