We are looking for active animal-lovers with experience leading horses, but we can also provide training to the right individuals ready for walking inside and outside, next to our horses for 1-4 hours at a time. We have adaptive riding lessons 7 days a week and hippotherapy (physical therapy, speech therapy or occupational therapy using equine movement) Monday afternoons, Wednesday afternoons, Thursday midday and Friday afternoons, and our leaders and sidewalkers provide physical support to the riders during their sessions. We have a strong need for Monday PM, Friday PM, Saturday AM and Sunday volunteers at this time.
You will learn to assist therapeutic (adaptive) riding instructors and physical therapists teaching participants how to groom horses, walk with horses, and ride horses! In exchange, you will commit to a weekly slot for the duration of our riding term (8-14 weeks). Regular attendance is essential to this position, as the participants rely from the same support staff each week.
