ORGANIZATION: Rebuilding Together

About Our Community
Rebuilding Together Minnesota (RTMN) has a foot in two worlds - the more rural Greater Minnesota and the
Urban core of Minneapolis and St. Paul. The Minneapolis/St. Paul community has a changing demographic
as more people move to the metro area. It is a diverse energetic environment with a significant college aged population. This, however, does not diminish the need for low-income homeowners desperate for needed assistance of senior and people with disabilities who want to stay in their home safely. The social unrest and the surrounding issue continue to be a driving force in many programs and initiatives we and many organizations face. Nonetheless, the community continues to be a vibrant great place to live. Minnesota faces the issues of declining populations and economic opportunities. RTMN is actively assisting these communities to help stabilize their towns and cities. That said, these communities are great places to live and visit; each with its own unique flavor. Regardless of working in the Twin Cities or Greater Minnesota,
RTMN is developing a reputation of a can-do organization dedicated to helping people and the communities in which they live.

Summary of Position
As the AmeriCorps Volunteer Coordinator, you will activate local community members to get involved and
make an impact in their community by volunteering with Rebuilding Together. In this position, you will
engage both skilled-trades and unskilled volunteers to build our capacity through a number of opportunities,
including hand-on repair work, warehouse management, client education in healthy housing or home
maintenance, and to serve in special roles on rebuilding days (ex: safety captains, supplies/materials
runners, photographers). You will ensure volunteers receive a proper orientation to Rebuilding Together’s
work, and are placed with appropriate rebuilding projects based on skill/experience. As the AmeriCorps
Volunteer Coordinator, you will implement project evaluations to continuously improve the quality of
volunteer experiences, as well as show our appreciation to volunteers for their service to our clients.
