Description:
The George Foundation for Sight Restoration is seeking a dedicated and organized Administrative Assistant to support our foundation's operations in Dallas, Texas. This is a volunteer position, and the assistant will be responsible for handling various administrative tasks related to the foundation's activities.
**Responsibilities:**
- Answer and direct phone calls in a professional manner
- Assist with grant submissions and follow-ups
- Manage schedules and appointments
- Handle general clerical duties, including photocopying, faxing, and filing
- Provide support with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Collaborate with volunteers on administrative tasks
**Requirements:**
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Previous experience in administrative roles is preferred but not required
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

The George Foundation for Sight Restoration (GFSR) is devoted to restoring sight with surgery, medication, and education, for qualifying patients who have a financial need; in addition, Dr. Michael George and his team are committed to providing community education and resources for vision health.
Description
The George Foundation for Sight Restoration, started by opthalmologist Dr. Michael George, has been an active nonprofit for one year, and has prevented low vision and/or blindness in a minimum of one patient per month at no charge to those patients with financial need.
The (GFSR) is devoted to enhancing and restoring sight with surgery, medication, and education, for qualifying patients who have financial needs; in addition, Dr. Michael George and his team are committed to providing community education and resources for vision health. Valued volunteers play a vital role in fundraising, and community education.
The GFSR is supported solely by generous charitable donations from individuals, grateful patients, private foundations, corporate matching gifts, and an annual fundraising event. No government or third-party funding of any other kind is received by the GFSR.
