Hospice volunteers are exceptional people. They donate their time and efforts to provide care and comfort for someone with a life- limiting illness- a labor of love that requires a special person with just the right touch. They have a passion for helping others and make a profound difference in the lives of patients , families and communities we are privileged to serve.

Volunteer Roles and Opportunities
*Administrative- Provides office support for direct patient care( creating patient/family teachings materials, mailings, filing, etc.
*General Support- Provides program support through arts and crafts for patients or the bereaved, community fairs, fundraising, community speaker events, education , public relations, and volunteer recruitment
* Patient care- Provides in-person activities and companionship (reading, life review, listening, watching a patients favorite shows, playing board games, scrapbooking, yard work, animal care, etc.
*Bereavement- Provides in-person, phone or office support to the bereavement program and interacts with the family in a caring and compassionate manner. Assist with arrangements after death, agency memorial services or activities, and community education on end -of- life issues
* Professional - This may include hospice interdisciplinary team and complementary alternative integrative health service roles
