Paws and Claws Cat Rescue is a 501(c)3 nonprofit in Evanston, founded in May of 2020. We focus on cats at risk of euthanasia in local shelters and those in areas with fewer resources and higher euthanasia rates. Our goal is to provide every animal in our care with behavioral, emotional, and medical care, eventually matching them with a long-term family. As a small, close-knit organization, we’re proud that we’ve saved more than 1,250 animals since our founding in 2020, thanks to a growing foster network of 135 families and 640 adopters.

Our membership program internship is a wonderful opportunity for someone looking to expand their knowledge of donor management, stewardship, communications, engagement, and solicitation, especially relating to recurring donor programs. Paw Print Club, our monthly donor program, is a vital part of Paws and Claws and creates the financial foundation for us to save cats from euthanasia.

Responsibilities:

• Creating and implementing strategies for marketing and recruiting new members
• Thanking existing and new members via email, mail, and phone
• Planning and strategizing events and other acknowledgment opportunities for members
• Data management and entry
• Doing research and comparative analysis on other membership programs
• Creating content for social media, email marketing, and other marketing

Qualifications:

• HS diploma or equivalent
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work independently

Our Membership Program Internship is a three-month unpaid opportunity to further skills, knowledge, and experience in donor management, retention, marketing, communications, and nonprofit leadership.

5-10 flexible hours per week. Hybrid preferred.
