Brown Bag Grocery Program Delivery Driver
ORGANIZATION: Grey Bears
Please visit the new page to apply.
Drivers deliver bags of fresh produce and essential groceries to homebound and isolated seniors. The driving shift is flexible between 7:30am and 9am on Thursdays and Fridays. Flexible drivers that can fill in while other volunteers are on vacation or sick are also needed!
The brown bag program helps seniors stretch fixed income dollars and provides an opportunity for meaningful community connections. Driving Routes are Countywide and you can drive in a location that's convenient for you.
Grey Bears delivery drivers are crucial to our program and are responsible for taking the majority of our delivery routes across the county. You deliver in your vehicle; we will need a copy of your insurance card and driver license, in addition to some paperwork being completed. Our door to door makes multiple deliveries 15-50 depending on the route. We have some routes that are just dropping bags off for pick-up. We provide mileage reimbursement to all drivers that request it (simple form to complete).
Volunteers need to be 18 years of age or older, have a valid California driver's license, be responsible and friendly. Kids of all ages are welcome to volunteer with an adult driver.
