Are you in search of a fulfilling way to give back to your community? Becoming a hospice volunteer may be the fit for you. As a hospice volunteer, you’ll be be able to provide companionship and emotional support to patients and families through their most vulnerable times. Hospice volunteers do not need extensive medical knowledge but should have a strong set of interpersonal skills and time management. Volunteers should be compassionate, sensitive, dedicated, & self-aware.
Hope Hospice is licensed to provide hospice services to the community in the following ten (10) counties in the state of Illinois: Cook, Lake, McHenry, Winnebago, Kane, DuPage, DeKalb, Will, Boone and Ogle.
Volunteers have the flexibility of servicing patients within their community preference. Patients are located within home and nursing home settings.
Mandatory drug screen, physical exam, and TB test required. Must completed new hire onboarding.
***Volunteer experience is non-compensatory***

- Visit frequency depends on the patient & family's wishes - at minimum 4-5 hours per month.
- Orientation/training provided, COVID vaccinated preferred, Drivers License or reliable transportation, drug screen, physical exam, and annual TB test, Spanish speaking a plus.
