FINANCIAL CAPABILITY MATTERS

JA Finance Park(r) combines in-class learning with a visit to an immersive on-site facility. After learning in the classroom, students engage with volunteers and put into practice what they have learned by developing a personal budget. They get hands-on experience identifying career interests, the advantages and disadvantages of using credit and debit cards, and the components of making smart financial choices.

Program Highlights:

· Identify personal interests, skills, work preferences, and values.

· Evaluate the risks and benefits of saving and investing.

· Evaluate risk and recognize insurance as a way to minimize it.

· Define taxes, explain their purpose, and understand how they affect everyone.

· Explain who uses a budget and why.

· Make financial decisions using hypothetical life situations.

Volunteers will be assigned to storefront to lead small-group career exploration activities and provide real-world examples and anecdotes.

Training will be held on-site on the morning of your volunteer experience and is included in the stated timeframe.

Comfortable shoes and business casual clothes are recommended. Please bring a bagged lunch as we have no food for sale and microwaves are not available.
