ORGANIZATION: The Cat Sanctuary

Image_202308211754

We have between 40 and 50 cats and kittens at the Sanctuary at any given time.

(Right now we have over 20 kittens that need a lot of care....these kittens will be up for adoption in early November)

One shift is (about) two hours - and available all seven days of the week, morning, mid day and evening. What works for you?

We need help socializing the cats, cleaning beds, cat boxes, setting up food, changing water and cleaning and tiding up the area.

If you are 16 or older and can work with another volunteer 16+ we can talk to you about the possibility of volunteering.

We need one or two people per day -- your hours work for us! Two hours each spot, anytime between 8 am and 7 pm.

We are located in West Eugene not far from the airport - Greenhill Road at the 4-way stop at Royal - less than two miles from there.

About The Cat Sanctuary

Location:

PO Box 50574, Eugene, OR 97405, US

Mission Statement

The TCS's mission is to promote the humane treatment of cats and kittens in Lane County. In addition to a physical sanctuary, this will be done through community programs focusing on education, advocacy, services, and fostering the collaboration of rescue groups and individuals in Lane County, Oregon, occasionally working with an organization located in Bend, OR. Trap Neuter Return programming key to our mission.

Description

We have a small sanctuary slightly West of Eugene where cats are lovingly cared for according to individual needs: Some are feral and live around the property, some are aging, some are babies, and some will be adopted to loving and caring homes. These cats can take a month to several years to prepare for a new life; some never do and stay forever.

We hope to have a state-of-the-art cat sanctuary up and running within the next several years. We will be here to help with feral cats, homeless cats, abandoned cats, veterinary assistance, cat spaying and neutering, TNR, and maintenance of community cats. We need volunteers of all types-those who want or need to stay home and help us online and those who are willing to come to the sanctuary and help hands-on with cat care and other types of hands-on help. There are many virtual opportunities.
