AARP Foundation Experience Corps is an intergenerational volunteer-based tutoring program that is centered on increasing literacy rates for children in grades 1-3. We inspire and empower adults 50 and older to serve in their community by helping young students become better readers.

This program is hosted in Washington, DC by Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington.

Tutoring is held twice a week with time for skills practice, reading aloud with quality talk, and much more reading fun delivered in a 1:1 or small group setting.

Experience Corps provides comprehensive training and site orientation, ​ready access to program staff and peer tutors​​, on-site support, as well as all print and digital tutoring materials.
