ORGANIZATION: Sunnyside Community Services

Are you passionate about positively impacting the lives of Older Adults in your community? Join our team of dedicated volunteers at our Adult Day Services Program to assist and create meaningful moments for our Older Adults diagnosed with Alzheimer’s or other forms of Dementia.

The program runs from 9:30 A.M to 2:15 P.M every Monday to Friday. We are currently in need of volunteers for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays of the week. Volunteers are welcome to commit to any number of days or pick that best fits their availability.

Volunteer Responsibilities:

  • Assist in breakfast and lunch services.
  • Engage in activities with the Older Adults
  • Foster meaningful conversation and relationship

Because our volunteers in the Adult Day program work with an elderly vulnerable population, we require a PPD test to ensure that the volunteer is not carrying latent tuberculosis. To volunteer you must:

  • Obtain a PPD skin test from your doctor.
  • Submit a negative test result from the last six months.

Your commitment as a volunteer will make a world of difference to the lives of our seniors. By joining our team, you’ll be providing vital care and support to the needs of the older adults in our community.

If you’re interested in being part of our compassionate team, please contact volunteering@scsny.org.
