Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: HandsOn Bay Area

Project Overview

Help make Florence Fang Community Farm become a self-sustaining urban farm! If you enjoy being outdoors and getting your hands dirty, come by for a volunteer day to get hands-on gardening experience.

Volunteers will weed, plant, dig, and grow at the farm!

About the Florence Fang Community Farm

Established in 2014, the Florence Fang Community Farm is a community site that has served over 100 participating families. They have become the largest community farm and second most productive urban farm in the City.

Project Requirements & Important Notes

  • Volunteers should wear sturdy, close-toed shoes, and clothes you don't mind getting dirty.

  • Bring water, a hat, gardening gloves, and sunscreen.

  • Volunteers must be able to do light garden work, including bending, stretching, and light lifting in an outdoor setting. Any training will be done by appropriate staff and will be specific to your assigned work area.

Please do your part in keeping our community healthy. If you are immuno-compromised, at increased risk for severe illness, or feeling sick at all, please decline your registration to the event and register for a project at a less risky time. For additional resources and guidance on how to keep yourself healthy, visit the CDC website.
