Role Description: Position Type: Volunteer
Reports To: Executive Director/CEO/Board of Directors
Job Summary : The Volunteer Director of Development is a key leadership position within Nesfield Performance Foundation responsible for planning, implementing, and managing all aspects of fundraising and development efforts. The Director of Development will work closely with the Executive Director/CEO and Board of Directors to develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy aimed at sustaining and growing the organization's financial resources.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fundraising Strategy Development:
- Collaborate with the Executive Director/CEO and Board of Directors to develop a clear and effective fundraising strategy.
- Identify new funding opportunities and develop innovative approaches to donor engagement.
- Donor Cultivation and Stewardship:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with current and potential donors, sponsors, and grantors.
- Implement donor cultivation and stewardship plans to ensure long-term support.
- Grant Writing and Management:
- Research and identify grant opportunities that align with the organization's mission and programs.
- Write compelling grant proposals and manage the grant application process.
- Fundraising Campaigns:
- Plan, execute, and evaluate fundraising campaigns, including annual appeals, major gifts, and online giving initiatives.
- Develop and manage donor recognition programs.
- Event Planning:
- Organize and oversee fundraising events and activities, including donor appreciation events, galas, and community outreach events.
- Budget Management:
- Work with the Finance team to develop and manage the development budget.
- Ensure efficient use of resources and funds raised.
- Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate donor records and fundraising databases.
- Generate reports and analyze data to assess the effectiveness of fundraising efforts.
- Collaboration and Leadership:
- Collaborate with the Board of Directors and other staff members to integrate development strategies with overall organizational goals.
- Provide leadership and guidance to volunteers and staff involved in development activities.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., nonprofit management, fundraising, marketing).
- Proven experience in fundraising and development, preferably in a non-profit setting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
- Proficiency in fundraising software and donor databases.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to the organization's mission and values.
- Availability to volunteer a minimum of [number of hours] per week/month.

Description
The Nesfield Performance Foundation (NPF) is honored to host the annual Metro Move Fest where the Foundation’s commitment to helping others perform better in life will extend to the Bethesda / Chevy Chase community.
The Nesfield Performance Foundation will partner with two local organizations - Metro Bethesda Rotary Foundation (MBRF) and The Spirit Club Foundation (SCF) to advance the shared goals of promoting fitness, community and inclusivity.
The event will host a 5K, relay, rotary wheel challenge and a series of other fitness-focused events for all ages. The event will take place at Bethesda Chevy Chase High School (4301 East-East Highway, Bethesda, Maryland 20814).
Proceeds from the event will benefit Metro Bethesda Rotary Club (MBRF) Foundation, and The Spirit Club Foundation (SCF) and sponsorship opportunities are available for this event .
