We are looking for an enthusiastic volunteer who wants to help children discover the joy of STEAM! Discovery Station at Hagerstown, Inc. is a hands-on museum providing life-long learning experiences to thousands of children and families. Our programs and events that give kids access to hands-on science and art, of which we host over 100 annually, are our greatest driver of traffic to the museum. The events promotion assistant will aid in marketing these programs by maintaining a Discovery Station presence on various digital platforms at the direction of the Director of Operations.

Duties

• Submits Discovery Station programs to local and state online calendars on a monthly basis.
• Proofreads marketing materials and ensures all information is accurate.
• Evaluates current online marketing efforts and gives feedback to Discovery Station staff as necessary.
• Communicates with Discovery Station staff regularly, collaborates and asks for help as needed.
• Other tasks, as directed

Skills

• Comfortable using and troubleshooting computers and websites.
• Self-Directed and able to work independently.
• Dependable and reliable. Able to commit time on a monthly basis.
• Proficient in English.

• Reliable access to the internet.
