DIWALICIOUS - Taste of Diwali at Mel Lastman Square in Toronto (North York) on Oct 4-6, a festive fair is a treat for food lovers topped up with live music and dance performances, recipe challenges, cook off competitions and tasting competitions and fun filled activities for all.

The duties volunteers would be carrying out include:

Mission Statement

Indo Canada Canada Arts Council aims to bring together communities to experience the rich culture and heritage by promoting arts by means of conducting festivals across multiple cities called Canada Diwali RazzMatazz.

Description

Indo Canada Arts Council organizes the annual Canada Diwali RazzMatazz festival series to celebrate and commemorate the festivities and celebrations of Diwali also known as festival of lights, signifying the victory of good over evil. The tradition of lighting earthen lamps followed on this day serves as a promise to turn darkness into light and spread peace and prosperity.

Festival series supports over 2000 artists, performers, musicians, dancers and artisans to showcase their talent in front of a large audience. Over 500 volunteers, 150 committee members, board of directors and professionals contribute selflessly in making Canada Diwali RazzMatazz a grandeur and providing opportunities to over 5000 individuals who participate as vendors, suppliers, logistics & support services providers.

  • This is a Done in a Day opportunity and there is no prior training or ongoing commitment needed.
  • Must be at least 15
  • Be able to carry out the shift. We provide light food for the 8 hour shifts. Also we give high school volunteer hours.
  • Willing to help out while having fun!
