The City of Sammamish Parks and Recreation team hosts many restoration events throughout the year. Volunteers have the opportunity be involved in restoring degraded sites thru removal of invasive plant species and planting of beneficial native species.

Description
Park Projects
There are a variety of volunteer projects happening in parks around Sammamish. Tasks include native plantings, trail building, wetland and stream restoration, invasive management, and storm cleanup.

Adopt-A-Pond ProgramThe Adopt-A-Pond program partners with residents to improve water quality, wildlife habitat, and the appearance of stormwater retention ponds.
Program activities can include:
- Invasive plant removal;
- Native plantings;
- Pond cleanup events; and
- Neighborhood outreach and education.
Sammamish Stewards The Sammamish Stewards preserve, protect and promote the natural environment within the City of Sammamish. The volunteer group is actively involved in many areas of environmental work. Learn more on the Sammamish Stewardship website or contact sammamishstewards@gmail.com for specific details.

REQUIREMENTS
- 2-3 hours/event. We host up to 10 events a month with weekend and weekday availability (set times).
- Volunteer Waiver Agreement (signed by parent if a minor). Volunteers should come prepared to work outdoors, dressed for the weather (rain or shine) and wearing appropriate footwear(no sandals/flip flops).
