Tutors provide one-on-one educational assistance to elementary and secondary school students.
Elementary school tutors, help children (grades 1 - 8) improve their skills in reading, writing, or math.
Secondary school tutors, help students (grades 9 - 12) with English, history, science, math, French, or other subjects.
- Work with students to improve their skills in certain subjects.
- Review and correct homework.
- Review and correct tests.
- Evaluate students' progress, and discuss any challenges with students and/or their parents.
- Identify students' individual learning needs.
- Review invoices and receipts for students or parents.
Spanish, English, and other languages are a plus. Generally, a tutor supports the school curriculum.

The Holistic Offering & Opportunity People (HOOP) - Mentoring Program seeks to be at the forefront of youth development, working with young people from disadvantaged economic, social and family circumstances. "The mission of H.O.O.P. is to empower urban communities by engaging people in holistic training environments that promote lifetime positive results."
Description
Our measurements of our youth achieving these individual objectives are: Promote Physical and Healthy Lifestyle Skills: Improve Academic Skills: Develop Social Skills and Cultural Awareness: And enhance Spiritual Skills: We will measure our youth based on their willingness to participate in our community outreach events. HOOP’s goal is for youth to recognize the importance of service before self. Instill Integrity and Truth: HOOP will assist our youth in developing their personal goals plan. We will review the plan with the youth and their parents.
