Development Alert as a young Charity involved in Empowering Poor and Vulnerable communities on livelihoods improvement and environment conservation in Uganda is looking for highly experienced, influential, resourceful professionals and well-wishers who can support the organization raise funds through their network and also where necessary to commit funding of their choice to the organization's activities to join the organization's Advisory Board on Finance.
These will ensure the organization raises funds for it's activities under the Four main thematic areas; Education, Access to Clean Water, Economic Empowerment and Environment Conservation. This volunteer position is not paid
PURPOSE OF ADVISORY POSITION
The purpose of the Advisory Board on Finance is to help raise money for the organization and it’s activities.
Members of Advisory Boards shall contribute to fundraising in many ways including;
- Asking their networks to financially support the organization.
- Serving as chair of a fundraising campaign or the annual gala.
- Connect the organization with their company's foundation or community relations program, which often need an inside person to get the gift.
- Plan a fundraising event, such as a golf tournament and other competitions to raise funds.
- Host an intimate dinner party at their home and ask their friends to give.
- Connect the organization with leaders of other organizations to create partnerships.
- Promote Organization's campaigns
- Attend Meetings every three Months

Description
Development Alert is a registered Not-for-Profit, Nongovernmental Organization operating in Uganda. Development Alert is involved in Empowering Vulnerable and Poor communities on Livelihoods Improvement and Environmental wellbeing. Founded in 2019, Development Alert is the 2024 Award Winner of the Most Dedicated Local Community-Based Support Organization-Uganda by UK’s based Publisher Acquisition International- https://www.acquisition-international.com/winners/development-alert/.

AREA OF FOCUS
1) Education (sponsorship, supply of scholastic materials, promoting literacy, construction of school infrastructure among others).
2) Promoting access to clean and safe water.
3) Economic Empowerment.
4) Promoting Environmental conservation initiatives.
ACHIEVEMENTS
Drilled a Community Borehole, supported over 634 needy school going children, Supplied Nine (9) Brand New Sewing Machines and startup Fabrics. Trained Fifteen (15) young people in life-skills, 10 elderly people, provided 400 school children with lunch, supported 50 members of Kisia Village Savings and Loans Association with startup funding and planted over 7000 trees in partnership with Uganda Wildlife Society.
