PS has partnered with King County’s Best Starts for Kids Grant and will be able to intervene/interrupt the School-to-Prison Pipeline by meeting with young women three times a week, offering, Life Skills and Development Workshops, Academic Support and Engagement, and group Mental and/or Behavioral Health Counseling sessions in both Federal Way and Des Moines. PS will help to uplift, motivate, educate, encourage, empower and build confidence in young women of color. PS held their second annual book drive June 2019 in which over 1500 books were donated to two schools in the Federal Way School District. PS’s board is comprised of six women of color come from all walks of life. The goal is to take all those life experiences and provide resources that will help motivate and encourage young women of our communities to be the most Phenomenal young women that they can be. PS envisions a society in which all young women of color have the foundations needed to break any glass ceiling they may encounter in society.
