Blue Hills Adult Education in Dedham, Massachusetts creates a safe and inclusive environment where adults develop the skills, knowledge and support needed to grow, persist, and achieve their aspirations.
We are looking for volunteers to work with adults seeking to improve their English or earn a high school equivalency. We will have a tutor training in the fall of 2024. The schedule is:
Wednesdays, 9:30 am-12:30 pm
September 25, October 2, 9, 16
sessions are in-person at Blue Hills Adult Education
Opportunities include one-on-one or group tutoring with English Language Learners or people working toward a high school equivalency requiring help in math, reading, writing, or testing strategies. Tutors will have the choice of working in-person with students or doing their sessions online.
We require a one-year commitment and two hours of tutoring per week. Tutoring runs during the school year, September-June. No tutoring in July & August. A CORI check is also required.

Become a tutor with Blue Hills Adult Education and give back to your community in a meaningful, lasting way. Help fellow adults improve their English or prepare for the High School Equivalency Exam.
No background or experience is necessary. All volunteer tutors receive comprehensive training, Our Volunteer Tutor Coordinator will work closely with you to find the best match for you.
