Do you love kids, kittens and parties!?!? We are looking for kind, patient volunteers with excellent people skills to help host birthday parties for children at our Adoption Center in Evanston.

Parties are an hour and forty five minutes and usually occur on Saturdays with occasional Sunday dates. Volunteers will be responsible for overseeing the party alongside a staff member.

This includes:

  • Overseeing children as they interact with kittens and ensuring everyone is gentle and follows the rules
  • Ensuring cats are comfortable and not getting stressed or overwhelmed
  • Leading a simple arts and crafts activity
  • Setting up decorations, tables, and chairs prior to party
  • Cleaning up utensils/trash and putting away decorations post party
  • Providing support throughout the party in other needed areas

Paws and Claws Cat Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to preventing and alleviating the suffering caused by abuse, neglect, and overpopulation. We help dogs and cats mentally and physically heal, and give them a chance to find love, a full life, and a forever home.

Description

Paws and Claws is a cat rescue that focuses on rescuing orphaned neonatal kittens, nursing kittens with their mothers, under-socialized cats, and dogs who have been at animal care and control facilities for too long. We see ourselves as the crossing guards for these vulnerable animals, helping them get from their past, whether that be from a traumatic home, a kennel, or a euthanasia list, to a safe and kind human who will love them.
