ORGANIZATION: RANDOM ACTS ORG

JOB SUMMARY

Random Acts, a global nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting kindness and compassion around the world, is seeking a talented and experienced Website Designer. Reporting to the Digital Marketing Manager, the Website Designer contributes to maintaining and updating the external Random Acts website, as well as creating landing pages for new projects and initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Update the content and design of existing pages on Random Acts’ website, as well as design landing pages for new projects and initiatives, working together with our digital content writers.
  • Technical SEO: eliminating errors, optimizing user experience, mobile responsiveness, and loading speeds.
  • Conduct research, offer suggestions, install, implement, and update plugins to improve website functionality, accessibility, and user experience.
  • Work with other teams within Random Acts to gather their requirements and make updates as requested to their respective pages and needs.
  • Participate in routine virtual staff and departmental meetings.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • A minimum of 2-3 years of web design experience in WordPress, including using drag-and-drop builder plugins such as Divi and Elementor.
  • Understanding of website development, and activities associated with website launches/redesigns including menu architecture development, web page layouts and graphic design.
  • Experience and skill in working with CSS, HTML, and JavaScript.
  • Experience in developing responsive web design for mobile users and making websites accessible for people with disabilities.
  • Demonstrate a dedicated and passionate alignment with the goals and mission of Random Acts.
  • Ability to remain reachable and responsive via email.
  • Collaborate effectively within an international, diverse, and multicultural team, while showing receptiveness to constructive feedback.
  • Proficient in written English communication, with proficiency in other languages being advantageous.
  • Capable of operating within reasonably tight timeframes, even when provided on short notice.
  • Must be able to commit a minimum of 3-4 hours per week to Random Acts activities.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, as well as the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Flexible work schedule to accommodate projects, evening and weekend meetings.
