We are a wildlife conservation-based ecotourism in Bukit Lawang, North Sumatra, looking for people with strong motivation to help us. We need help with the maintenance of our accommodation and also with our conservation work.
For example, right now we need help with direct work and care with two of our resqued animals - leopard cat and macaque.
We are located on the border with Gunung Leuser National Park, the only place in the world where you can find elephants, tigers, orangutan and rino live alongside one another.
We will provide volunteers clean hut and wifi.
This volunteering opportunity will give you a great chance to learn more about conservation, hospitality and Indonesian culture.
No special training needed.

Mission Statement
The project aims to have a wide scope with impacts on the population, species, habitat, ecosystem, and global levels. Efforts to stem poaching and illegal wildlife trafficking, as well as wildlife rescue and rehabilitation of endangered species, have an impact not just at the species level, but at the ecosystem level.
Description
SUMECO is a grassroots, not-for-profit organization employing local people. The rescue, rehabilitation and release of protected species held in captivity is the central focus of SUMECO work. We collaborate with Gunung Leuser National Park (TNGL) and also the Indonesian Nature conservation agency (BKSDA) but we do not receive any funding from them and as such as an independent nonprofit organization.
SUMECO responsibility is getting bigger and higher, while SUMECO’s action is extremely limited because it’s being funded only by the profits of our tourism business.
Thats why it's so impotant for us find people who shares our goals to help us with our work to save animals and environment.
