If you're recently retired or have 4 hours from 10 AM to 2 PM on Wednesdays, love to walk outdoors and give back to your community, we would love to have you join us. Bay Area Older Adults (BAO) is a volunteer-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that improves the health and well-being of adults age 50+ through safe, supportive and social walks in parks all over Santa Clara County. Our older adults have a range of abilities so we have three guides on each hike. You can lead the hike and teach the group about a topic of interest or be a guide in the middle or end of the walk, whatever you feel comfortable with. You will enjoy the outdoors, learn about nature and meet bright and friendly people! We have two hikes every month in Santa Clara and San Mateo counties. We prefer you commit to certain hikes ahead of time for planning purposes.
We look forward to hearing from you! To check out our website, please go to www.bayareaolderadults.org

Description
There is strong scientific research providing evidence that regular physical and mental exercise can sustain independent living and lower mortality rates in seniors. This is why we built a website that offers free, comprehensive information about outdoors, fitness, social and cultural activities http://bayareaolderadults.org The website was designed to be very easy to read, use, navigate and includes all the details older adults need to venture out to do physical and mental activities with confidence.
