Do you want to make a difference for our planet and get hands-on work experience at an international conservation NGO? Rainforest Partnership (RP) is a non-profit based in Austin, Texas, with team members in the US, Peru, Ecuador, Mexico and Europe. We conserve and restore tropical rainforests by working with communities to develop sustainable livelihoods that empower and respect both people and nature.

RP is currently looking for a Video Editor to support our external communications. The Video Editor will work with the Chief Marketing Officer to compile Rainforest Partnership’s video and audio content into compelling visual experiences. We are looking for individuals who can commit around 20-30 hours per week during periods of high project demand.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Edit and enhance raw video footage into engaging and impactful short videos for various platforms (social media, website, presentations, etc.).
• Create visually appealing graphics, animations, and effects to complement video content.
• Collaborate with our team to develop video concepts, storyboards, and scripts that effectively communicate our message.
• Incorporate relevant music, sound effects, and voiceovers to enhance the emotional impact of the videos.
• Assist in maintaining and evolving our brand identity through consistent use of design elements, colors, and typography across all materials.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and video editing techniques to continuously improve and innovate the quality of our content.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Prior experience in video editing and production.
• Proficient in video editing software (e.g. Avid Media Composer, Lightworks, Premiere, After Effects and/or Final Cut). Having a paid subscription to any of these software packages would be highly advantageous.
• Strong understanding of video composition, pacing, and storytelling.
• Creative mindset with an eye for detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Positive attitude and humility.
