Assist with the maintenance and restoration of our historic trolley fleet!
The Pennsylvania Trolley Museum is home to nearly 50 trolley cars, and our collection continues to grow. We are seeking enthusiastic volunteers of any skill level to help restore our trolleys to their historic beauty and function. This is a great opportunity to meet others who are passionate about restoration and historic preservation.
Work sessions are scheduled for Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays throughout the day. Volunteers are able to help as frequently as they would like. We are especially looking for volunteers with metal-working experience, as well as experience with painting, woodworking or electrical work. However, no experience is required. Just a love of learning!
In addition to expressing interest here (by clicking "I Want to Help"), you will also need to confirm your interest with our Volunteer Application which can be found at patrolley.org/volunteer
**Please be advised that volunteers must be a minimum of 14 years of age to participate without a parent or guardian present. All volunteers must provide their PA Clearances per PA State Law. Visit patrolley.org/volunteer-information to view clearance instructions.**

Mission Statement
The Pennsylvania Trolley Museum's mission is to communicate the story of Pennsylvania's Trolley Era to a diverse audience through the preservation, interpretation, and use of its collection of electric railway and railroad equipment, associated artifacts and photo/document archives, and to ensure that its visitors have an enjoyable and rewarding educational experience.
Description
The Pennsylvania Trolley Museum has evolved over the past 50 years from a handful of volunteers and a few trolleys to over 600 members and approximately 50 trolleys preserved at its museum in Washington, Pennsylvania. Visitors get a unique opportunity to actually experience the Trolley Era first hand by riding the Museum's beautifully restored streetcars for a scenic four-mile ride.
At our museum, volunteers of all ages work to preserve and share transportation history through trolley operation, educational tours, and maintenance and restoration work with our collections. We are also looking for volunteers with a variety of interests to help with special events and a wide range of museum operations. Anyone with a passion for trolleys, regional history, or simply serving one's community is welcome to join us!
