Instructional Design Specialist- Volunteer

About Our Organization: Our dedicated non-profit organization Dunk4Dreams offers basketball-centric programs and technology access to underserved youth, primarily focusing on minority communities. Our future basketball-attributed technology access program, scheduled to launch in Las Vegas, NV, in January 2024, represents our ceaseless commitment to acting as a catalyst for social change.
Job Overview: We are seeking an Instructional Design Specialist to join our team. With a strong background in course development and instructional design, the ideal candidate will be responsible for creating engaging and impactful course modules for youth aged 12-18.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and update instructional materials for the leadership program
- Apply instructional design theories and practices to create diverse learning experiences
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to determine training needs of target audience
- Incorporate tested instructional design theories and practices into course creation
- Conduct thorough instructional research and analysis on learners and contexts
- Maintain detailed documentation of projects and course materials
Qualifications:
- Experience in instructional design
- In-depth knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models
- Basic understanding of HTML and Flash programming
- Excellent lesson and curriculum planning skills
- Proficiency in course development software and at least one Learning Management System is a plus
- Strong visual design skills with the ability to storyboard
Skills:
- Superior written and oral communication skills
- Exceptional organizational and attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team as well as independently
- Strong problem-solving skills and creative thinking
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects efficiently
