Special Olympics never charges fees to our athletes or families in order to participate. Raising funds from community businesses and donors is a crucial part of the movement to include all that are eligible for our sports programs.
The Fundraising Coordinator pursues community fundraising opportunities and manages SOMT-branded fundraising initiatives for area volunteers, such as but not limited to:
- the MTN Chevy Truck Raffle sales
- the Polar Plunge
- local business sponsored events
- community partnerships

The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes, and the community.
