Suncrest Hospice is looking for Sunshine Volunteers to visit with our patients in the Richmond, Virginia service area which includes Henrico County, Chesterfield County, Caroline County, Prince George County, Powhatan County and Goochland County

Suncrest Hospice Sunshine Volunteers spend time with our terminally ill patients in whatever setting the patient calls home. (house the patient raised their family in, a nursing home, a senior apartment community or a memory care unit in a nursing home.) Your function as volunteer with Suncrest Hospice would be to "bring the sunshine" to your patient or their caregiver. If your visit takes place on a nice day and your patient is able, you can go outside with them; or you can stay indoors and play a board game like checkers or Sorry!. You can play music for your patient or watch classic television together. Whatever your patient enjoys doing, the two of you can do it together.

As a Suncrest Hospice volunteer, you would use your skills, talents, abilities and knowledge to help improve the quality of your patient's life. You will receive up-to-date training, guidance, positive feedback and that great sense of well-being that only comes from knowing that with every visit with your patient, you are making a difference in the life of someone who needs you.

Simply complete the questionnaire that accompanies this post. Our Volunteer Coordinator will reach out to you with the next steps to become a Suncrest Hospice Sunshine Volunteer. Thank you for your interest in joining our team of dedicated volunteers.
