A Free Bird is a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization that is fully remote. Our organization provides children affected by cancer the opportunity to explore their artistic passions. Artistic expression has been proven to play an instrumental role in the healing process. We support them with a range of self-expression through art, music, acting, poetry, writing, singing and other creative mediums. You will gain experience collaborating with various departments and managing a team. The Communications Assistant Manager plays a pivotal role in supporting communication and marketing efforts of the organization. This role involves collaborating with various teams to create, implement, and manage communication strategies that enhance the organization's brand image and engage its target audience. The Communications Assistant Manager will report to the Communications Manager or Director and work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent and effective communication across various channels. Responsibilities:
- Develop engaging and relevant content for various communication channels, including social media, website, newsletters, press releases, and marketing materials.
- Ensure that all content adheres to the organization's brand guidelines and maintains a consistent tone and messaging.
- Manage and update social media platforms with timely and engaging content.
- Monitor social media trends, respond to comments/messages, and engage with the online community.
- Analyze social media metrics to measure the effectiveness of campaigns and make data-driven recommendations for improvements.
- Assist in creating and distributing internal communications, such as newsletters, announcements, and updates for employees.
- Support the development of communication materials for internal events, meetings, and initiatives.
- Maintain the organization's brand identity and visual consistency across all communication materials.
- Monitor brand mentions and conversations online and address any issues as necessary.ď‚·Track and analyze the performance of communication initiatives using various tools and platforms.
- Collaborate with marketing, design, and other departments to ensure alignment of messaging and goals.
- Previous experience in communications, marketing, or public relations roles is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong understanding of social media platforms and digital communication trends.
- Proficiency in content creation and management tools.
- Attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
- Familiarity with analytics tools to measure the impact of communication efforts.
- Creativity and ability to think outside the box to develop innovative communication strategies.
- This position requires a six-month commitment and at least 10- 15 hours per week with the flexibility to plan your schedule.
