Homework Help & Hoops is a free tutoring program sponsored by St. John Church on Tuesdays & Thursdays starting January 28 - April 1, 2025 during the hours of 3:00-6:00 pm for children in 1st-8th grade. 1st-4th grade students arrive immediately after school, have a brief recess and snack and then the 1st & 2nd graders are tutored one-on-one while the 3rd & 4th graders go to Enrichment. At 4:10 pm, they switch. At 5 pm, all the students go to the gym for P.E. until dismissal at 5:30 pm. 5th-8th grade students come at 5:00 pm and receive 1 hour of one-on-one tutoring.
A background check is required for all tutors over 18 years old. There are two opportunities for volunteers to attend an orientation training: Tuesday, September 17 or Thursday, September 19 - both at 3:30 pm.

Description
St. John Church hosts an after-school tutoring program during the school year and the Spirit of Sharing (S.O.S.) Soup Kitchen every Thursday. We have combined these two outreaches to form HHH Summer Camp Feeding program for school aged children from 4 to 18 years old to provide a hot, nutrious lunch combined with a Reading Success Center and many engaging activities for students to participate in free of charge.
The program starts June 8 - July 30 on Monday-Thursday from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m.
