Description

Home Hospice Volunteers: Home hospice volunteers serve patients in their homes, which may be a house, an assisted living facility, or an independent living facility. The volunteer generally provides caregiver respite and/or patient companionship. The schedule for these visits varies greatly, and is typically arranged between the family and volunteer, based on the family’s needs and the volunteer’s availability. The time commitment also varies, but a volunteer generally offers two to four hours per week to the family.

Nursing Facility Volunteers: Volunteers who visit our patients in nursing homes spend their time talking with them, reading to them, or just sit quietly in their presence.

Healing Arts Volunteers: Healing arts volunteers may be licensed massage therapists, have a pet who is certified to visit patients, practice aromatherapy, music therapy, a Reiki practitioner, or an art therapist. Healing arts volunteers may practice in patient homes or facilities.

Administrative Volunteers: Our administrative volunteers perform a variety of duties in our fun office, from assisting staff with mailings, answering phones, filing, making packets, special projects, or working on the computer.

Other Talented Volunteers: Do you have a special gift or skill that isn’t listed above? Let us know! College Students Welcome! Seniors Welcome!
