Volunteers help create a more vibrant Austin for all as they partner with staff members and clients to build well-being. Whether it’s serving a nutritious lunch, working with clients directly to achieve their life goals, or supporting staff members to make our programs even stronger, volunteers help fulfill our mission to end homelessness. The volunteer program supports Caritas of Austin programs with volunteers and intern needs. The Volunteer Program Internship will support the Volunteer Coordinator in streamlining and developing our online training sessions, teach building processes and procedures for new programs. make it easier for volunteers and staff to access resources pertaining to volunteering at Caritas of Austin.

Duties & Responsibilities
* Help update the online training courses, by using the Sharepoint Platform, with current videos, stats and topics.
* Create maintenance protocol and training so Volunteer Program staff can update curriculum in the future.
* Help with Caritas University in person classes - scheduling, teaching and onboarding.
* Help update and streamline Volunteer Processes and Procedures.
* Assist with the new volunteer kitchen orientation, going over Caritas history, kitchen tasks and safety protocols.
* Assist with volunteer onboarding follow-up in the form of individual reach outs and group surveys.
* Help throw the volunteer appreciate party two times a year.
* Administrative tasks such as responding to volunteer inquiries, digitizing old volunteer documents and other projects as needed by the Volunteer Coordinator.

Your contact with our constituents - clients, donors, other volunteers, visitors and the general public - is vital to agency operations and places a special emphasis on your role in projecting a professional image. You are expected to dress in attire appropriate for the people whom you meet volunteering and for the kind of role that you perform. Use good judgment, and if you have any questions about appropriate attire, ask your supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
* A natural desire to lead, engage and support passionate groups of people.
* Ability to use creativity to develop new ideas.
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
* Knowledge of SharePoint platform infrastructure preferred.
* Maintain professional demeanor at all times
* Excellent organizational, written and verbal skills
* Detail oriented and committed to meeting deadlines
* Good interpersonal skills
* Works well independently and as part of a team

* Initial Interview with Volunteer Coordinator
* Background Check and Reference Check
* Program training throughout intern assignment
